Lord Howe Island

So lucky to have just spent the last week on Lord Howe Island some 600km off the coast of Australia.About 10km long and 2km wide with a protective reef and lagoon on the western side and sand beaches between rocky headlands on the east. Mt Gower to the south stands at 875m tall with Ball’s Pyramid about 23km to the south standing 550m tall out of the ocean. Lord Howe is home to the most southerly coral and is just such a magic place.

400 locals and only 400 tourists allowed at any one time.It is part of NSW but geographically looks a lot more like some part of New Zealand to me.Anyway we had such a relaxing time and another memorable trip to this little known slice of paradise.
