11foot glider

I had a ride on a DVS Glider down at Byron over the Christmas break and loved it. So I designed one up in AKU. Got Burfords to glue up the 12ft 3" blank with a Cedar and Paulownia T band stringer. Then I thought why not get Dick Van Straalan to hand shape it for me. Dick was onto it. Big job hand shaping a 12 foot blank. It filled his shaping bay. He used a Mike Diffenderfer template he has hidden away. I just said to Dick do whatever you like. Well it looked like a great outline and at 11ft x 26" x 3 1/2" you won't miss it. Looking forward to Peter Mo finishing the glassing.

Great to have met Felipe Siebert from Brazil, last night when he dropped around to talk boards. We have been in contact for many years and I have always admired his boards and skills. He will be back up in 

Queensland again in a month and I hope we get to catch a few waves together.
