Busy Christmas break continues

I started Christmas with 6 mini simmons and a 9ft 6" pintail on the go. So my mission was to get them finished over the break. It has been hard work with 30 + temps all Christmas and into the New Year.

The 9ft 6" with the rail bands on and ready for fin box install.
I had to come up with some lights to help with the rail shaping. So I cut up some plywood and mounted a fluro to them. One I screwed to the wall and the other I mounted on top of my portable work table. I all worked out fine. I have a large fluro on the ceiling right above this setup as well.

 Works well...
The cross lights let you see the shadows that are formed that indicate the flow of your shaping. Very helpful and takes the guess work out of it all.
It was hot going , so some early starts in the cool of the day and lots of water for the rest of the day. 6 litres one day and I was still could have had more.

The dust mask is a must with Paulownia as the dust is so light and just floats for ages and goes everywhere.
Anyway I am close now with just some final sanding , Logo stamp and oiling to go.

  1. Cool that you still have your aerobics headband from the 80's Grant. Good that you chose to leave the leg warmers in the top cupboard though.
